Mission Statement

(Connecticut Junior Women, Inc.) is a volunteer organization of women with diverse talents who donate their time, financial, and moral support for the betterment of their local, state, national, and global communities while providing opportunities for personal growth and leadership.

Towns Served

We currently serve towns where our members reside or where we have connections via word-of-mouth: Bantam, Canaan, Colebrook, Cornwall, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Lakeside, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, New Milford, New Preston, Norfolk, Northfield, Salisbury, Sharon, Thomaston, Torrington, Washington, Winchester, and Winsted.

Fund Distributions

All of the club’s proceeds are donated to local (the Litchfield Hills community) and national charities.  Past recipients include: firehouses, public libraries, the Torrington Soup Kitchen, FISH, the American Red Cross, Susan B. Anthony, and the Boy / Girl Scouts.

The Club is pleased to offer college bound high school seniors from the towns we serve with an opportunity to apply for a scholarship.  Volunteerism is the driving force of our club and therefore that component is strongly considered for the award criteria. We will look at each applicant’s volunteer involvement with projects and events both within school and in the outside community. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1st, 2020. Updated applications will be available after the New Year.
